    Description

Interim Depository Receipt Charleston, (SC)- $500 June 30, 1864 Tremmell SC-37.
This is a very interesting receipt in many areas. It is signed by L. D. Mowry for W. Y. Leitch who moved to Columbia to take charge of the Note Bureau. The payer is W. C. Bee Trust(sp?) Import and Export Company and his successors in office. It was printed on light blue wove paper with Series U at the top. The printer was "Jowitt, Printer, 347 King St. over Hunt's Auction Store." Finally, the rate of interest paid is listed as "our per cent" instead of four percent. Extremely Fine-About Uncirculated.
