Description

    Ball 16 Cr. 4 $1000 1861 Bond PMG About Uncirculated 55.
Register Clitherall signed the majority of this Ball number that was issued at Montgomery. The large red "1000" is bold. The portrait is of Jefferson Davis. The Bank of Charleston stepped up to the plate to purchase this bond less than a month after Fort Sumter. This example has a soft center fold and a minor corner bend or two. It is a pleasing problem-free example and is the finest for the type we have offered to date.

    Estimate: $1,500 - $2,500.
