Register Clitherall signed the majority of this Ball number that was issued at Montgomery. The large red "1000" is bold. This example has three vertical folds and minor pencil writing on the back. There are three edge tears up to approximately one inch in length repaired with tape on the back and there is also an approximately three-quarters-inch top edge tear that has not been repaired. A few pinholes are also evident, and a couple of the corners are shaved on this bond that was purchased by a patriotic Confederate between Fort Sumter and First Manassas.
