    Ball 206 Cr. UNL $1,000 1863 Bond Fine.
    This rare bond was issued by A(lphonse) Desmare, the Confederate Depositary at Opelousas, LA. The second edition of Ball-Simmons states the number issued as around 100 examples. The piece in this lot has serial number 45340. The marginal name of "ROY" is found in the bottom selvage and a full Confederate Treasury stamp is located in the back bottom margin selvage. A small fold split is at center, while left center has an approximate two inch edge tear and at right center there is an approximate 1.75 inch edge tear. Many pinholes are scattered throughout.
