    Description

    T68 $10 1864 PF-44 Cr. 552 Uncut Sheet of Eight.
Both sides are printed on this 10 Series uncut sheet, the last series for T68 notes. Serial numbers and signatures were not penned on this example. This was probably due to the arrival of Sherman's army in Columbia, South Carolina, the removal of the Treasury Note Bureau to Charlotte, North Carolina, and how most of the signers of notes remained in Columbia and simply disappeared among the citizenry. The selvage on the face has a complete Treasury Department Stamp at upper right and two plate engraver names at right, and the back has one engraver's name at right. PCGS About New 53, stains.
