    Description

    T64 $500 1864.
This is an interesting Confederate $500 that was used as a calling card, as the back has the penned inscription, "To ? Ida Franzen with compliments of J.H. ?. Chicago 8/16. 1903." A small period portrait photograph of a man has been affixed to the back just under the inscription. Some pieces are missing along the top margin and there are a few tears. Good, pinholes.
