    Description

CT65/491 "Havana Counterfeit" $100 1864. Here is a nice example of this famous counterfeit that has plate letter D, written signatures, machine printed serial numbers (in this case one serial number is doubled,) no space between standing soldier's body and elbow, smaller dimensions than a genuine note, and the back is a lighter shade of blue than for a genuine note. This counterfeit is estimated as a Rarity 8, see Counterfeit Currency of the Confederate States of America, by George R. Tremmel. Extremely Fine-About Uncirculated.
