    1912 Treasury Department Dispersal Letter with Envelope and Nine 1864 Notes Very Good or Better.
    The United States Treasury Department in the early part of the twentieth century chose to distribute Confederate notes to Grand Army of the Republic posts and also libraries throughout the nation for exhibition purposes. This lot contains the letter, envelope, and nine 1864 notes. Those notes are, $100; $50; $20 (2); $10; $5; $2; $1; and 50 Cents. The $100; $50; and $5 exhibit damage and the $50 has a small piece of tape on the back. The count for this lot is eleven items with nine notes, one envelope, and one dispersal letter that has the printed signature of Secretary of the Treasury Franklin MacVeagh. There will be no returns on this lot for any reason. (Total: 11 items)
