1864 $20 State Capitol at Nashville, TN; A.H. Stephens on right, T-67, XF. A nice note with the wonderful historical poem on the reverse that is entitled "The Confederate Note," a piece of poetry that was supposedly found written on the back of a Confederate note after the war. Whether this story is apocryphal or not is not known to this cataloger, but it sure makes for a great story and the poem has always been considered a well-written testament to the currency of the short-lived Southern Confederacy.
