    Description

    SF58 $20 1863
    SF58/426 $20 1863 Two Examples.
These T58s were part of a heist from the Treasury-Note Bureau of $20 notes. The signatures and issue dates, if necessary, were later forged. The SF58 note is a 1st Series note without the issue date. This type of forged variety is not mentioned in the Tremmel counterfeit reference. The two SF58/426 notes are of the 2nd Series June 1863 issue stamp variety. One note is marked with two red "Counterfeit" block stamps and the other has been extensively pen cancelled. See A Guide Book of Counterfeit Confederate Currency by George B. Tremmel, pages 225-6. Very Good-Fine or better. (Total: 3 notes)
