T47 XX-2 VF 25PPQT47 XX-2 $20 1862 PF-1 Cr. 245.
A design that was once considered legitimate, but the thinking of today puts T47s now in the Treasury test pattern or the fantasy issue camp. However, they are still highly collectible due to tradition and the numbers known are less than the numbers enumerated for T35s and T1s, according to Fricke on page 351. This example grades PCGS Very Fine 25PPQ. We have auctioned only one example in a third party grade higher, by just five grade points. That PCGS VF 30 piece closed at $5750 in our January 2012 auction. However, the current example is the only T47 to go under our gavel with a PPQ or EPQ grade modifier.
