    Description

    T45 $1 1862.
Douglas Ball wrote for the 1986 American Numismatic Society slide program on Confederate paper money that the green tint was added to these notes for two reasons. "The first was counterfeit protection and the second was to keep Blanton Duncan's printers busy and thus out of mischief. This failed miserably on both counts as there are green-tinted counterfeits and the workers were as riotous as ever." The apparent grade is for a missing piece replaced at the left edge. It is a small triangular piece of paper without any printing. PCGS Apparent Fine 15.
