DescriptionT45 $1 1862 Cr. 342A.
After making an unauthorized addition to this $1 (a green 1 ONE protector) the printer, Blanton Duncan, was told that he would not be paid for the extra work and that he should remove the tint from production. This he did, but not before approximately 412,500 notes with the tint were issued. This note was originally in the collection of Walter B. Jones that was sold at a CAA auction in September 2001, where Mr. Hilton paid $1770 for it. PCGS grades this example Apparent Choice About New 58, with minor mounting remnants on the back.
