DescriptionT44 $1 1862 PF-2 Cr. 340.
Duncan printed the Confederacy's first $1; this design. He had added a green protector but failed to get pre-approval from the government. The Department of the Treasury promptly rejected his payment request causing Duncan to print the remainder of the run, including this note, without this enhancement. This example grades Very Good with a fair amount of soiling and a few of the usually expected edge bumps, dings, and nicks.
