Description

    T41 $100 1862 PF-5 Cr. 315.
Signed by G. Johnston and W.L. Harvey, this note was processed on December 4, 1862, a week before the battle of Fredericksburg. It was issued to the field from the Assistant Treasurer's office in Jackson, MS on January 31, 1863 and apparently never collected interest on January 1, 1864 or 1865 as there are no further IP stamps. The note is quite attractive on bright paper with an untoned orange HUNDRED protector and a scarcer issue stamp from Jackson on the back. The bottom margin still shows part of the color alignment bar for the orange tint plate. This note grades Fine-Very Fine with a tiny chunk out of the bottom margin that just touches the frame line
