Description

    T41 $100 1862. PF-12 Cr. 317A
Keatinge & Ball printed this type by the intaglio method (steel plate engraving), unlike most Treasury Notes which were lithographed. This note was processed on November 5, 1862 by the Treasury Department and released into circulation by John Boston, who served as the CSA Depositary in Savannah, GA, on November 22, 1862 (his stamp appears on the back). The note is printed on paper watermarked "CSA" in vertical block letters. Fine with a small amount of staining on the lower margin below Calhoun's portrait.
