Overall even color and circulation are observed on this Very Fine note that was issued on Oct. 28, 1862 in Knoxville by Civil Agent J.G.M. Ramsey. Interest paid stamps from Augusta and Knoxville are also seen on the back. According to the research presented in Confederate Issuers of Train and Hoer Notes by Michael McNeil, "Ramsey was in charge of agents who sought out counterfeiters, spies, and infiltrators."
