Description

    T40 $100 1862.
    This PF-5 variety note was issued on November 17, 1862 by Capt. J(ames) F. Cummings. He was a Commissary of Subsistence. Captain Cummings was appointed to collect supplies for General Braxton Bragg's invasion into Kentucky during the latter half of 1862. Later, Cummings would appeal to Florida Commissary Agent Major Pleasant W. White for more Florida cattle during October 1863. See Confederate Issuers of Train and Hoer Notes by Michael McNeil. Fine with a moisture spot covering the far left one-fifth.
