An Extremely Fine example with a few tiny pinholes observed, this note is dated Jan. 19, 1863. The note was issued by James G. Paxton, Major and Quartermaster. Paxton served in Virginia and was in the Lynchburg QM Department as a supplier for Lee's Army according to the McNeil reference, Confederate Issuers of Train and Hoer Notes. Pre-printing paper wrinkles are noticed.
