Issued Twice from HoustonT40 $100 1862 PF-2, Cr. 306.
This desirable note is full of Texas history, issued in the Trans-Mississippi region under the command of General E. Kirby Smith. Issued twice out of Houston, first in manuscript on November 29, 1862, then stamp re-issued on March 18, 1863. Interest was paid out of Houston on January 1, 1863, then again on New Years Day 1864, apparently out of San Antonio, as the manuscript matches closely to the style on other notes this cataloguer has witnessed out of San Antonio as well. The note has the desirable CSA watermark in script letters, is quite clean and crisp, and grades About Uncirculated.
