DescriptionT40 $100 1862 PF-1.
Most of the interesting aspects of this note appear on the back. The note was issued to the field 19 days after it was signed and dated, with a Charleston, SC round postmark stamp indicating that it was issued to the field on September 8, 1862. Three scarcer black IP stamps, including two from Raleigh, NC, show that interest was paid annually to the end of the wire. There is an additional handwritten entry that appears to be a presentation inscription. PMG grades this note Very Fine 25 with pinholes seen.
