This $100 was issued at Greenwood, (Mississippi) on April 22, 1863. "Greenwood" is faded some, but it is legible. Camp Pemberton was hastily constructed during the winter of 1863 along the Yazoo River near Greenwood to keep the Yankees at bay. Beneath the waters of the Yazoo River lie 29 ships that were sunk during the Civil War. PCGS Very Fine 35.
