San Antonio Issue Stamp - 36th Texas Cavalry Regiment connectionT39 $100 1862 PF-5 Cr. 292(?).
This pleasing Very Fine condition note has a round San Antonio stamp, indicating that the note was issued there on January 12, 1863 and an additional manuscript entry that interest was paid to January 1,1864. There is also a small "Woods" endorsement that probably ties this to Colonel Peter Cavanaugh Woods, commanding officer of the 36th Texas Cavalry Regiment that served in Texas and Louisiana during the war.
