DescriptionT39 $100 1862 PF-5 Cr. 291.
A manuscript entry on the back indicates that this note was issued on August 5, 1862 by W.T. Goodwin, Deputy Collector in Savannah, GA. Not surprisingly the IP stamps paying interest to January 1, 1863 and 1864 are both from Savannah indicating that this note probably never left a bank safe or planter's strongbox during the war. PMG grades this note About Uncirculated 53 Net due to a collector's tiny lightly penciled annotation, a few pin holes, and ink erosion (which seems to be limited to a very small margin chip from the downstroke of the Register signer's signature from an adjacent note in the top margin).
