DescriptionT39 $100 1862 PF-4 Cr. 293.
An example that was issued at Beaumont, Texas on Nov. 7th, 1862 by (Captain) B.W. Brown, AQM. Issued notes of this assistant quarter master are a R13 with only three to five known according to the Fricke 2014 Field Edition. This is also the first example to come to our attention. Brown served with the 11th (aka Spaight's) Battalion, Texas Volunteers. This unit first served in Texas and later it was assigned to Hebert's Brigade in the Trans-Mississippi Department. This $100 is a handsome upper VF piece that is just four serial numbers removed from the plated example on page 29 of Confederate Issuers of Train and Hoer Notes by Michael McNeil. PCGS Very Fine 35.
