The plate maker name "Dabney" is still visible on the right margin of this Very Fine example that was issued in the Trans-Mississippi Department, as witnessed by the San Antonio circular postmark issue stamp (April 24, 1863). There is also a black IP stamp normally associated with Texas that has been manually changed from 1864 to 1865, with a "5" written over the printed "4."
