Description

    T39 $100 1862 PF-2.
From the five day print run made by Hoyer & Ludwig, this $100 has a red "bogus back." There are differing points of view about whether these back designs were to serve some official purpose or were added after the war to produce stage money or to satisfy collector demand for new varieties. IP stamps paying interest to January 1, 1863, 1864, and 1865 are noted, with the two latter IP stamps being from Raleigh. PMG grades this note About Uncirculated 55 Net due to a tiny amount of adhesive at the bottom of the upper left sunburst on the back.
