The issuing Confederate Depositary agent for this scarce note was J(ames) Sorley who operated out of Galveston. He was a collector of customs and he also issued Trans-Mississippi bonds. He signed this note in red ink which is unusual due to it being more expensive than black ink. The issue date on this note is September 24, 1862. Very Fine-Extremely Fine with a couple of carbon spots, including one small hole.
