DescriptionT39 $100 1862 PF-13 Cr. 296.
A red validation date of "31363" appears on this note that has a manuscript issuance endorsement on the back by Thaddeus Sanford (probably from Mobile, Alabama) dated September 22, 1862. The stamping on this note is similar to that found on the T29 plated in the Fricke Field Edition 2008 on page 216 and discussed on page 217. The current offering note traveled a bit, having an unknown 1863 interest paid to stamp as well as 1864 Columbus and 1865 Augusta, interest paid to stamps. Very Fine, lightly toned paper with ink erosion in the Sanford endorsement on the back that extends approximately three-fourths of an inch down from the top edge on the face.
