DescriptionT39 $100 1862 PF-13 Cr. 294.
This Confederate "C" note shows a train in the center with straight steam and a milkmaid on left. It was printed by J.T. Paterson whose imprint is seen on the right bottom. It has a blue interest paid stamp from Montgomery on the back and a "San Antonio, Tex Mar 3 (1863)" issue round postmark rubber stamping. At the start of the Civil War, San Antonio could boast of a population of 15,000. As the war progressed, it became a commercial and financial center for the Confederacy due to its proximity to Mexico. Notes issued in Texas have added prestige that make them highly sought after among collectors. PCGS Apparent Choice About New 55 due to some small stains at bottom right.
Estimate: $400 - $500.
