    Manuscript Endorsement "Wm. L. Sharkey Jr" T41 $100 1862 PF-25 Cr. 318A.
    Captain and Assistant Quarter Master Sharkey was reported to author Michael McNeil as the recently released Confederate Quartermasters, Commissaries, and Agents was at the printer's. Here is some of the information on Captain Sharkey that was compiled on him by Mr. McNeil. Sharkey was appointed on March 18, 1862 as Captain and Assistant Quartermaster under General Earl Van Dorn. Sharkey spent time in Texas during 1862. Later, Sharkey was posted at Vicksburg in November and December 1862. The rest of the war found Sharkey at various posts in Mississippi. He surrendered at Citronelle, Alabama on May 4, 1865 and was paroled at Meridian, Mississippi on May 13, 1865. This $100 is endorsed on the back as, "Issued April 5 1863 Wm. L. Sharkey Jr. Capt & AQM." PMG About Uncirculated 50 Net, with the lower left corner missing from the frame line outwards.
