Manuscript Endorsement "H.E. Loebnitz" T41 $100 1862 PF-20 Cr. 316A.
    "Issued Feby 9th 1863 H.E. Loebnitz A[ssistant] Q[uarter] M[aster]" is penned on the back. AQM Loebnitz served in the Trans-Mississippi Department. He is listed in the Fricke Field Edition 2014 but not in the Confederate Issuers of Train and Hoer Notes by Michael McNeil. The back of this $100 also has a "Jackson, Miss Jan. 1, 1863" issued from stamp, a penned "Int pd to Jan 1864," and just a penned name of "Woods." Loebnitz's war record is that he served in the quartermaster corps, first with the 4th Texas Cavalry in 1861, then was attached to General H.H. Sibley's Army of New Mexico in 1862. Next it was back to the 4th Texas Cavalry in 1863, and then, due to disability, it was on to Houston for the years 1864-65, as a captain. He was paroled in Houston on June 22, 1865.
