DescriptionJ.H. Childrey Ad Note T41 $100 1862.
It has been over a half dozen years since we last sold a T-41 note with this particular advertiser and without any other Trainmen endorsements. Of particular interest is the ad on the back "Write To--, J.H. Childrey, 1722 Main St., Richmond, VA, --For--, Confederate Money, Stamps, Bonds, Coins &c." Childrey was one of the first to use Confederate notes for advertising. Scrip "CSA" watermark is noted. This PCGS Choice About New 55 looks great for the grade but there is some light handling. That other Childrey Ad note that we sold in 2009 was also Choice AU and it realized $345.
