DescriptionCT39/290A Counterfeit $100 1862.
This quality lithograph counterfeit that was formerly part of the Ford Collection has penned signatures and a handwritten date of July 4, 1862. An easy to remember diagnostic of this counterfeit is that six windows are seen on the third passenger coach rather than the seven windows as are found on genuine notes. This number is classified as a Rarity 6, estimated 17 - 32 to exist, in A Guide Book of Counterfeit Confederate Currency by George B. Tremmel. This PCGS Apparent Very Fine 25 counterfeit $100 has edge tears and minor damage. The interest paid to oval rubber stamping on the back is also bogus.
