Description

1862 $100 J.C. Calhoun on left; Slaves weeding Cotton in center; Confederacy Personified on right, T-41, AU. Cr-317. This note is crisp, and has only minor signs of handling. The edges are slightly rough, but they are of ample width. Of great interest to specialists is the fact that this note possesses a handwritten notation, in ink on the back, that it was issued in Galveston, Texas. Trans-Mississippi notes command a premium when seen, and this example is excellent as a type specimen.
