    "G(eorge) W. C(aldwell)" T40 $100 1862 PF-4 Cr. UNL.
A neat $100 with two penned issuing statements on the back. The first reads "Issued Jackson Oct 28/1862" and "Issued at Monroe, La Jany 8th, 1863." The latter is followed by the initials, "G(eorge) W. C(aldwell)". Caldwell was a captain and an assistant quarter master. Specialists tell us that this is the first note to emerge that has the "GWC" initials combined with the Jackson (Mississippi) location. We are also told that this note will be included in the addendum for Confederate Issuers of Train and Hoer Notes by Michael McNeil. A historical note that grades Fine with an as-made minor imperfection in the paper that has produced a small hole.
