    Trans Mississippi Stamp

    T9 $20 1861 PF-9 Cr. 29B.
One of just under 265,000 notes originally issued of this design between July 25 and October 26, 1861, this $20 saw duty again in the Trans Mississippi department of the Confederacy, as is evidenced by the round red February 1864 revalidation stamp applied to its face. PMG grades this note Very Fine 25 Net due to multiple hammer cancels and some edge tears. Although the ink stamp is also mentioned, your cataloger believes that it is certainly an enhancement to the note's value.
