    T4 $50 1861 PF-2 Cr. 4.
The serial number on this example, 1424, is a new addition to the census. This note was part of a second shipment of 1000 sheets of $50-$100 that made it out of New York harbor about 15 minutes ahead of federal authorities on or about April 22-24, 1861, ten to twelve days after the start of the war. There is a faint endorsement on the back that this note was disbursed on July 1(?), 1861 in New Orleans. PCGS grades this example Apparent Very Fine 20, citing rust stain, damage and repair, edge splits, tears, and minor damage, as well as a missing upper right corner.
