Unusually Attractive Very Fine Compound Interest Treasury Note
Fr. 190b $10 1864 Compound Interest Treasury Note PCGS Very Fine
A very nice looking example of a note that often lacks eye appeal due to the tendency of the bronze overprint to discolor in a number of different fashions, none of which are pleasing. In this instance, the color is completely original and in some areas the gold-like sheen is still evident. Although the 35 grade is italicized, it is unrelated to the bronze which is usually the problem. In this instance, the italic grade was caused by a "Small Edge Tear at Bottom Center." A very pleasing example of a type that is hard to find in an attractive circulated grade.
