    Description

    Virginia September 1, 1775 £5 PCGS Extremely Fine 45.
This is the second highest graded James River bank form note of any denomination that we have ever offered. The ship vignette is immaculate and the note shows no actual signs of circulation other than a single light center fold. Also, the Dandridge and Norville signatures are perfect. This note is not valued above VF in either the Newman or Friedberg references. There is ink erosion of the Carter and Nicholas signatures, edge damage, and repairs, but very little of this actually interferes with the text or design features.
