    Description

Virginia October 5, 1778 $3 PCGS Apparent Very Fine 35. A rare and underrated issue, seldom seen in any grade. The two highest denominations, the $50 and $100 notes, are a larger size, and while still quite rare, they are far more common than the $15 and lower denomination pieces. These are unpriced in any grade in Newman. A repaired edge tear at right near the top was mentioned by PCGS as the reason for the apparent grade. Wood and Wray signed this example numbered 1231. The notes were printed by Clarkson and Davis.
