    Description

Virginia October 16, 1780 (For Clothing the Army) $400 PCGS Apparent Very Fine 20.
The specially authorized "speedy clothing the Army" notes are a much rarer series than the printed back notes. These uniface notes are printed on very frail, thin paper with typeset text within an ornamental border. The majority of these rarities are very low grade, and most are missing pieces. PCGS has assigned the apparent grade for an assortment of issues, including major restorations. Nonetheless, the note has a pleasing over all appearance and the note is very, very, rare.
