Impressive March 1, 1781 Double Thick Paper Sheet

Virginia March 1, 1781 Uncut Double Pane Sheet of $1000-$750-$500/$250-$150-$50 Thick Laid Paper Notes Fr. VA-209b-208.1b-208b/207b-206b-204b. PCGS Very Fine 35 Apparent.
An inspiring and complete double sheet of twelve notes from this series printed on thick laid paper. It is a showpiece: bright, vibrant and impressive. There were eight denominations printed for the series. The other two, $20 and $80, were printed on a different sheet. These uniface notes have typeset text and ornamental borders. The six-note panes are printed on opposite sides of the sheet; the adjacent pane has the blank side up. Each note is signed and numbered, ready for issue. The original paper selvedge is virtually complete and the paper originality is extraordinary. Noted with "Small Splits; Edge Damage in Selvedge." Another museum caliber uncut sheet from the Newman Collection.

Truth Seeker: The Life of Eric P. Newman (softcover)
A powerful and intimidating dealer of the 1960s, backed by important colleagues, was accused of selling fraudulent gold coins and ingots to unsuspecting numismatists. Who would go up against a man like that and, over the course of decades, prove the fraud? Who would expose a widely respected scholar as a thief, then doggedly pursue recovery of coins that the scholar had stolen from an embarrassed numismatic organization, all over the objections of influential collectors who had bought coins with clouded titles? Eric P. Newman would - and did. Reserve your copy today.
