    Description

Virginia October 5, 1778 $5 PCGS Apparent Very Fine 25.
A rare note and the first example of its type and denomination that we have ever sold. The Fifty and One Hundred dollar denominations are seen occasionally and are listed at $2,500. in Friedberg in VF. All denominations of $10 and lower are unpriced and simply indicated as rare in all grades. The Newman Book likewise lists all denominations below $50 as unpriced.
