Virginia May 4, 1778 (Dates Handwritten) $6 PCGS Choice About New 55PPQ.
A very rare note in high grade. Friedberg does not price it above extremely fine where they value it at $3,000. Newman caps the grade column at very fine and values it at $2,000. Only 1000 notes were printed, this one, #31 is the plate note in the Newman reference appearing in color on page 449 of the Fifth edition. PCGS has not yet released a colonial population report, but PMG has graded only five notes in total of the eight different denominations in this issue. They have yet to grade any $6. None of the five notes that PMG has graded has achieved this 55 level. An important Virginia note.
