    Virginia May 3, 1779 $10 PCGS Extremely Fine 40.
Another extremely rare note and only the second example that we have handled. The previous piece was a split and holed VF we sold a number of years ago. PMG has never graded one of these and we suspect this is the only example that PCGS has seen. Any Virginia note from this era without the apparent on the holder can be considered important, as this extremely soft paper was highly prone to splits and holes. This XF is essentially flawless, with strong signatures, a bold serial number, and excellent contrast between the printing and paper. Very rare and very underappreciated.
