Virginia May 1, 1780 $20 Choice About New. This is the first Twenty Dollar example we have ever handled from this issue. The various denominations were all produced in equal number, but for some reason Two Dollar notes seem to be the main survivors of Virginia Guaranteed pieces. We've handled nine notes from this issue in our 36 sales, and five of them have been Twos (a $4 and three $8's were the others.) Notes from this issue are rarely seen in any grade, and this Twenty is a highly important note. It's fully signed and issued, and but for close margins and a single sheet fold, it's a perfect Gem.
