    Virginia March 11, 1760 £5 PMG Very Good 10.
We have offered very few Virginia Colonials dated before 1773 over the years. In fact, this is only the second different example of this £5/20 Crowns note to cross our auction block. It is also the only piece of this denomination and issue to be graded by PMG. Only 1,800 were printed leading to the conclusion that very, very few have survived. This example was signed by Peyton Randolph and R(obert) C(arter) Nicholas. On the back are several horizontal and vertical endorsements as this note circulated extensively and thus the edge damage is more than understandable.
