Virginia April 5, 1759 £5 PCGS Apparent Very Fine 25.
A very rare note, this is one of only two examples ever seen by either of the two major grading services. We know of three: first, this note which we believe to be the finest, the second is the photograph in the Newman book, and the third is the Fine in the Ford-Boyd May 2004 sale that realized $3220. The signatures of Randolph and Nicholas are wonderfully strong, and the note is fully intact, save for small missing pieces in two of the corners. The indent is large and clear, and the note is an amazing example for its age and issue. There are some splits, tears, and damage.
