Appealing Faced Vermont 1 Shilling 3 PenceState of Vermont 1781 1 Shilling 3 Pence Fr. VT-2. PCGS Fine 12 Apparent.
This Vermont note faces up quite well and has three signatures at the bottom. The back is not visible as the note was backed upon a piece of contemporarily printed paper to increase the note's integrity and extend its circulation. However, sharply penned signatures and virtually all of the note's face details make this example appealing. Noted with "Splits, Tears, and Minor Damage; Backed." This is the second lowest denomination and much scarcer than the most often seen 2 shilling 6 pence note.

A powerful and intimidating dealer of the 1960s, backed by important colleagues, was accused of selling fraudulent gold coins and ingots to unsuspecting numismatists. Who would go up against a man like that and, over the course of decades, prove the fraud? Who would expose a widely respected scholar as a thief, then doggedly pursue recovery of coins that the scholar had stolen from an embarrassed numismatic organization, all over the objections of influential collectors who had bought coins with clouded titles? Eric P. Newman would - and did. Reserve your copy today.
